ततस्तं नृपशार्दूलं शार्टूल्समविक्रमम् । आरोहयद्धयं तूर्ण भ्राता दःशासनस्तदा,उस समय भाई दुःशासनने अपने ज्येष्ठ भ्राता सिंहके समान पराक्रमी नृपश्रेष्ठ दुर्योधनको घोड़ेपर चढ़ाया
tatastam nṛpaśārdūlaṃ śārdūlasamavikramaṃ | ārohayad hayaṃ tūrṇaṃ bhrātā duḥśāsanas tadā ||
Then Duḥśāsana, his brother, swiftly mounted that tiger among kings—Duryodhana—whose valor matched a tiger’s, upon a horse.
कर्ण उवाच
The verse highlights how personal virtues like courage and loyalty can be ethically ambiguous: the same fraternal devotion and martial efficiency that are admirable in themselves may also empower an adharma-driven campaign, reminding readers to examine the moral ends served by one’s strengths.
In the midst of battlefield action, Duḥśāsana quickly helps his elder brother Duryodhana—praised as a ‘tiger among kings’—to mount a horse, signaling urgency and readiness for continued combat.
