Marutta’s Sacrifice and Agni’s Embassy (मरुत्त-यज्ञे दूतत्वम्)
अग्निर्वाच आसन सलिल पाद्यं प्रतिनन्दामि तेडनघ । इन्द्रेण तु समादिदष्टं विद्धि मां दूतमागतम्,अग्निने कहा--निष्पाप नरेश! आपके दिये हुए पाद्य, अर्घ्ध और आसन आदिका अभिनन्दन करता हूँ। आपको मालूम होना चाहिये कि इस समय मैं इन्द्रका संदेश लेकर उनका दूत बनकर आपके पास आया हूँ
agniḥ uvāca—āsana-salila-pādyaṁ pratinandāmi te ’n-agha | indreṇa tu samādiṣṭaṁ viddhi māṁ dūtam āgatam ||
Agni said: “O blameless king, I gratefully accept and acknowledge your respectful offerings—seat, water, and the washing of the feet. Know that I have come here as a messenger, dispatched by Indra.”
