Babhruvāhana and Dhanaṃjaya’s engagement at Maṇipūra
tatas te saindhavā yodhāḥ punar eva vyavasthitāḥ | vymuñcanta susaṃrabdhāḥ śaravarṣāṇi bhārata bharatanandana ||
Then those warriors of Sindhu, once again forming their ranks, released showers of arrows in fierce agitation—O Bhārata, O delight of the Bharatas.
The verse highlights how anger (saṃrambha) fuels renewed aggression even after setbacks; in the Mahābhārata’s ethical frame, such moments test a warrior’s discipline and adherence to dharma amid the chaos of battle.
The Sindhu-region fighters regroup and re-form their battle array, then unleash intense volleys of arrows, escalating the combat once more.
