Vāyu said: “O foremost bearer of the Kuru line, if you truly hold constant affection and reverence for me, then—having heard this teaching of the inner Self—practice it rightly and continually, with the steadfast discipline of one devoted to the highest vow.”
वायुदेव उवाच
Devotion is validated through conduct: if the listener truly reveres Vāyu, they must not merely hear adhyātma (inner spiritual knowledge) but practice it correctly and continuously, with disciplined commitment.
Vāyu addresses a Kuru scion and frames his instruction as a test of sincerity: the recipient’s love and respect should manifest as steady, proper observance of the adhyātma teaching just imparted.
