Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)

prasāde caiva sattvasya prasādaṁ samavāpnuyāt | lakṣaṇaṁ hi prasādasya yathā syāt svapnadarśanam ||

Vāyu said: “When the inner being (sattva) becomes serene, one attains serenity itself. The mark of such serenity is this: just as, for a person who has awakened, the dream-vision becomes quiet and loses its hold, so too the sign of purification is the mind’s clear, undisturbed gladness.”

Educational Q&A

True purification is recognized by prasāda—lucid, steady serenity. When sattva becomes clear, mental disturbances subside naturally, like a dream losing reality upon waking.

Vāyudeva instructs the listener on the experiential sign of inner purification: the mind becomes transparently calm, and illusory or agitating impressions fade the way dream-images fade after awakening.
