पृथामेव च शोचामि या पुत्रैश्चर्यमृद्धिमत् । उत्सृज्य सुमहद् दीप्तं वनवासमरोचयत्,मैं तो उन माता कुन्तीके लिये ही अधिक शोक करता हूँ, जिन्होंने पुत्रोंके समृद्धिशाली एवं परम समुज्ज्वल ऐश्वर्यको ठुकराकर वनमें रहना पसंद किया था
Transliteration
pṛthām eva ca śocāmi yā putraiś caryam ṛddhimat | utsṛjya sumahad dīptaṃ vanavāsam arocayat ||
Translation
It is for Pṛthā (Kuntī) that I grieve the most—she who, though her sons possessed wondrous prosperity and radiant sovereignty, cast aside that great splendor and chose instead the life of the forest.
