तापसानां प्रशस्यन्ते गच्छ संजय मा चिरम्‌ | “संजय! हमलोग स्वयं गृहस्थाश्रमका परित्याग करके चले आये हैं, अतः हमारे लिये इस तरहकी मृत्यु अनिष्टकारक नहीं हो सकती। जल, अग्नि तथा वायुके संयोगसे अथवा उपवास करके प्राण त्यागना तपस्वियोंके लिये प्रशंसनीय माना गया है; इसलिये अब तुम शीघ्र यहाँसे चले जाओ। विलम्ब न करो”

tāpasānāṃ praśasyante gaccha saṃjaya mā ciram |

Nārada said: “For ascetics, such ways of relinquishing life are held to be praiseworthy. Therefore, Saṃjaya, depart from here at once—do not delay.”
