छत्रोपानहदानफलप्रशंसा — Praise of the Merit of Donating Umbrella and Footwear

अथाम्रेषु निगूढश्न रश्मिभि: परिवारित: । सप्तद्वीपानिमान ब्रह्मन्‌ वर्षेणाभिप्रवर्षति,“ब्रह्म! अपने किरणसमूहसे घिरे हुए भगवान्‌ सूर्य बादलोंमें छिपकर सातों द्वीपोंकी पृथ्वीको वर्षकि जलसे आप्लावित करते हैं

Transliteration

athāmreṣu nigūḍhaś ca raśmibhiḥ parivāritaḥ | sapta-dvīpān imān brahman varṣeṇābhipravarṣati ||

Translation

Bhishma said: “O Brahmin, the Sun—veiled within the clouds and encircled by his rays—pours down rain upon these seven continents (dvīpas), flooding the earth with the waters of the monsoon.”
