Bhishma said: United in resolve and acting with a single purpose, they wandered through the forests. Uprooting and gathering roots and fruits, they carried their simple provisions with them.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined simplicity and unity of purpose: living on roots and fruits gathered from the forest, with firm resolve and coordinated conduct—an ethical model of restraint and non-excess.
Bhishma describes a group moving through the forest together, sharing the same determination and practical routine, collecting uprooted roots and fruits as their sustenance while they wander.
