नक्षत्रेषु श्राद्धफलविधानम् (Śrāddha Outcomes According to Nakṣatras)
स सेनापतिरेवाथ बभौ स्कन्द: प्रतापवान् | ईशो गोप्ता च देवानां प्रियकृच्छड्करस्य च
sa senāpatir evātha babhau skandaḥ pratāpavān | īśo goptā ca devānāṁ priyakṛc chaṅkarasya ca ||
Bhīṣma said: Then Skanda, mighty in valor, shone forth in the very office of commander. He became the lord and protector of the gods, ever acting for the good of Śaṅkara (Śiva).
भीष्म उवाच
True authority is validated by protection and service: Skanda’s greatness is shown not merely in power, but in fulfilling the role of guardian of the gods and acting for Śaṅkara’s good—leadership aligned with dharma and loyalty.
Bhishma describes Skanda’s rise and eminence as the divine commander-in-chief. Skanda is portrayed as radiant and powerful, entrusted with safeguarding the gods and consistently working for the welfare of Śaṅkara.
