नक्षत्रेषु श्राद्धफलविधानम् (Śrāddha Outcomes According to Nakṣatras)
तेन तस्मिन् कुमारेण क्रीडता निहते<सुरे । सुरेन्द्र: स्थापितो राज्ये देवानां पुनरीश्वर:
tena tasmin kumāreṇa krīḍatā nihate 'sure | surendraḥ sthāpito rājye devānāṃ punar īśvaraḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: When that youthful divine son, as though merely at play, slew the asura Tāraka, Indra—the lord of the gods—was once again established in the sovereignty of the devas, restored to his rightful rule.
भीष्म उवाच
When adharma disrupts rightful order, its removal—sometimes through divinely empowered agency—restores legitimate sovereignty; true rulership is grounded in the protection of cosmic and moral balance, not mere power.
The divine youth (Kumāra, i.e., Skanda/Kārttikeya) kills the asura Tāraka with effortless ease, and as a result Indra is reinstated as the ruler of the gods, regaining the devas’ kingdom.
