नक्षत्रेषु श्राद्धफलविधानम् (Śrāddha Outcomes According to Nakṣatras)
देवताओंने गुहावासी कुमारकी पूजा करके उनका सेनापतिके पदपर अभिषेक किया और तारकासुरने देवताओंपर जो अत्याचार किया था, सो कह सुनाया ।।
sa vivṛddho mahāvīryo devasenāpatiḥ prabhuḥ | jaghānāmoghayā śaktyā dānavaṁ tārakaṁ guhaḥ ||
The gods worshiped the cave-dwelling Kumāra, consecrated him, and installed him as commander of the gods’ host, recounting the outrages the asura Tāraka had inflicted upon them. When he had grown to full strength and valor, Guha—mighty, sovereign, and lordly general of the devas—slew the Dānava Tāraka with his unfailing divine power.
भीष्म उवाच
Legitimate authority and consecrated leadership, aligned with dharma, are portrayed as necessary to restrain tyranny; when power is rightly vested in the worthy, oppressive forces are overcome and order is re-established.
After being honored and installed as the gods’ commander, Guha (Skanda) attains full prowess and then destroys the demon Tāraka using an unfailing divine power/weapon, ending the demon’s oppression of the gods.
