नक्षत्रेषु श्राद्धफलविधानम् (Śrāddha Outcomes According to Nakṣatras)
सैनापत्येन त॑ देवा: पूजयित्वा गुहालयम् । शशंसुर्विप्रकारं तं तस्मै तारककारितम्
senāpatyena taṁ devāḥ pūjayitvā guhālayam | śaśaṁsur viprakāraṁ taṁ tasmai tārakakāritam ||
Bhishma said: “Having honored him with the office of commander-in-chief, the gods then praised that extraordinary deed at the dwelling in the cave—accomplished to remove the threat of Tāraka.”
भीष्म उवाच
Legitimate authority and public honor should follow proven service to dharma: when a deed removes a grave threat and restores order, it is fitting for the righteous (here, the gods) to recognize it through both praise and responsible leadership roles.
Bhishma narrates that the gods honored a hero by appointing him commander-in-chief and then extolled an extraordinary deed connected with the Tāraka matter, associated here with a cave-abode setting.
