Bhīṣma said: “O Indra, in Brahmaloka hundreds of apsarases, adorned with divine garlands, stand in attendance upon the giver of land.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse extols bhū-dāna (donation of land) as an exceptionally powerful act of dharma: its merit is portrayed as leading to exalted honor in Brahmaloka, where celestial beings attend the donor.
Bhīṣma addresses Indra and describes a heavenly scene: in Brahmaloka, hundreds of apsarases adorned with divine garlands stand ready to serve the person who has given land, illustrating the reward of that charity.
