दानफलप्रकरणम् — उपानहदानं, तिलदानं, भूमिदानं, गोदानं, अन्नदानं च

फालकृष्टां महीं दत्त्वा सबीजां सफलामपि । उदीर्ण वापि शरणं यथा भवति कामद:,जो मनुष्य जोती-बोयी और उपजी हुई खेतीसे भरी भूमिका दान करता है अथवा विशाल भवन बनवाकर देता है, उसकी समस्त कामनाएँ पूर्ण हो जाती हैं

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | phālakṛṣṭāṃ mahīṃ dattvā sabījāṃ saphalām api | udīrṇaṃ vāpi śaraṇaṃ yathā bhavati kāmadaḥ ||

Translation

Bhishma said: “If a person donates land that has been ploughed—complete with seed and already bearing produce—or provides a spacious house as shelter, such a gift becomes a fulfiller of desires, bringing the donor’s aims and wishes to completion.”
