मातङ्ग–शक्रसंवादः

Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

ऊर्जावतीं महापुण्यां मधुमतीं त्रिवर्त्मगाम्‌ । त्रिलोकगोफ्तीं ये गड्डां संश्रितास्‍्ते दिवं गता:,गंगाजी ओजस्विनी, परम पुण्यमयी, मधुर जलराशिसे परिपूर्ण तथा भूतल, आकाश और पाताल--इन तीन मार्गोपर विचरनेवाली हैं। जो लोग तीनों लोकोंकी रक्षा करनेवाली गंगाजीकी शरणमें आये हैं, वे स्वर्गलोकको चले गये

Ūrjāvatīṁ mahāpuṇyāṁ madhumatīṁ trivartmagām | Trilokagoptīṁ ye Gaṅgāṁ saṁśritās te divaṁ gatāḥ ||

The Siddha said: ‘The river Gaṅgā is full of spiritual vigor, supremely meritorious, and sweet in her waters. She moves along the three paths—earth, sky, and the netherworlds—and thus protects the three worlds. Those who take refuge in Gaṅgā attain heaven.’
