Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

वानप्रस्थैर्गहस्थैश्व यतिभिरन्रह्मचारिभि: । विद्यावद्धि: श्रितां गड़ां पुमान्‌ को नाम नाश्रयेत्‌,ब्रह्मचारी, गृहस्थ, वानप्रस्थ, संन्यासी और विद्वान्‌ पुरुष भी जिनकी शरण लेते हैं, ऐसी गंगाजीका कौन मनुष्य आश्रय नहीं लेगा?

vānaprasthaiḥ gṛhasthaiś ca yatibhir anbrahmacāribhiḥ | vidyāvaddhiḥ śritāṃ gaṅgāṃ pumān ko nāma nāśrayet ||

The Siddha said: “When forest-dwellers and householders, renunciant ascetics and brahmacārins, and even learned men take refuge in the Gaṅgā, what person could possibly not seek her shelter?”
