Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

Vaiśampāyana said: Just as Brahmins skilled in sacred mantras reverently attend upon the rising sun, so too did all the Pāṇḍavas—serene in mind—bow in homage to Bhīṣma, the foremost of the Kurus, the son of Gaṅgā. The scene frames their devotion and humility: even amid the aftermath of war, they approach the elder with ritual-like reverence, seeking guidance grounded in dharma.
