समाम्नायो5समाम्नायस्तीर्थदेवो महारथ: । निर्जीवो जीवनो मन्त्र: शुभाक्षो बहुकर्कश:,७६२ समाम्नाय:--वेदस्वरूप, ७६३ असमाम्नाय:--वेदभिजन्न स्मृति, इतिहास, पुराण और आगमरूप, ७६४ तीर्थदेव:--सम्पूर्ण तीर्थोके देवस्वरूप, ७६५ महारथ:-- त्रिपुरदाहके समय पृथ्वीरूपी विशाल रथपर आरूढ़ होनेवाले, ७६६ निर्जीव:--जड- प्रपठचस्वरूप, ७६७ जीवन:--जीवनदाता, ७६८ मन्त्र:--प्रणव आदि मन्त्रस्वरूप, ७६९ शुभाक्ष:--मंगलमयी दृष्टिवाले, ७७० बहुकर्कश:--संहारकालमें अत्यन्त कठोर स्वभाववाले
samāmnāyo 'samāmnāyas tīrthadevo mahārathaḥ | nirjīvo jīvano mantraḥ śubhākṣo bahukarkaśaḥ ||
Vāyu said: “He is the very Veda and also what stands outside the Veda; he is the divinity present in all sacred fords, and the great charioteer. Though appearing lifeless, he is the giver of life; he is Mantra itself. His gaze is auspicious, yet at the time of dissolution he becomes exceedingly stern and unyielding.”
