सर्वाशयो दर्भचारी सर्वेषां प्राणिनां पति: । देवदेव: सुखासक्त: सदसत्सर्वरत्नवित्,६५२ सर्वाशय:--सबके आश्रय, ६५३ दर्भचारी--वेदीपर बिछे हुए--कुशोंपर रखे हुए हविष्यको भक्षण करनेवाले, ६५४ सर्वेषां प्राणिनां पति:--समस्त प्राणियोंके स्वामी, ६५५ देवदेव:--देवताओंके भी देवता, ६५६ सुखासक्त:--अपने परमानन्दमय स्वरूपमें ही रत रहनेवाले, ६५७ सत्--सत्स्वरूप, ६५८ असत्--असत्स्वरूप, ६५९ सर्वरत्नवित् --सम्पूर्ण रत्नोंके ज्ञाता
sarvāśayo darbha-cārī sarveṣāṁ prāṇināṁ patiḥ | deva-devaḥ sukhāsaktaḥ sad-asat-sarva-ratna-vit ||
Vāyu-deva said: “He is the refuge of all; the one who partakes of the oblation placed upon the sacred darbha-grass; the lord of all living beings; the God of gods; ever absorbed in his own blissful nature; the knower of both being and non-being; and the discerner of every precious treasure.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse praises the Supreme as the universal refuge and lord, simultaneously present in ritual worship (receiving offerings) and transcendent in nature (abiding in bliss), with complete knowledge of reality and unreality (sat/asat) and of all precious excellences.
Vāyu is speaking a eulogy-like description, listing honorific epithets that define the deity’s sovereignty, ritual accessibility, and metaphysical supremacy—typical of Anuśāsana Parva’s didactic passages on dharma and worship.
