Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)

व्यभ्रं च गगनं सद्यः क्षणेन समपद्यत । तीर्थयात्रां ततो विप्रा जग्मुश्नान्ये यथागतम्‌,फिर तो तत्काल एक ही क्षणमें सारा आसमान साफ हो गया। कहीं भी बादल नहीं रह गया। तब ब्राह्मणलोग वहाँसे तीर्थयात्राके लिये चल दिये और अन्य लोग भी जैसे आये थे, वैसे ही लौट गये

Transliteration

vyabhraṃ ca gaganaṃ sadyaḥ kṣaṇena samapadyata | tīrthayātrāṃ tato viprā jagmuḥ anye yathāgatam ||

Translation

Nārada said: “And at once, in a single moment, the sky became clear—free of clouds. Then the brāhmaṇas set out from there on their pilgrimage to the sacred fords, while the others returned just as they had come.”
