Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)

सो<यं पुरुषशार्दूलो मेघवर्णश्षतुर्भुज: । संश्रित:पाण्डवान्‌ प्रेम्णा भवन्तश्वैनमाश्रिता:,वे ही ये चार भुजाधारी घनश्याम पुरुषसिंह श्रीकृष्ण प्रेमपूर्वक तुम पाण्डवोंके आश्रित हैं और तुमलोग भी इनके शरणागत हो

Transliteration

so ’yaṁ puruṣaśārdūlo meghavarṇaś caturbhujaḥ | saṁśritaḥ pāṇḍavān premṇā bhavantaś cainam āśritāḥ ||

Translation

Bhīṣma said: “This very lion among men—dark as a rain-cloud and four-armed—has, out of love, taken refuge with the Pāṇḍavas; and you too have taken refuge in him. Thus the bond between Kṛṣṇa and the Pāṇḍavas is one of mutual shelter, grounded in affection and righteous reliance.”
