Śrī Maheśvara said: “Because this has been spoken by you with particular clarity, it will become richly endowed with merit; and, O Goddess, in the world it will attain the status of an authoritative standard. Therefore, O Devi, the women’s dharma you have articulated will be regarded as a guiding norm for conduct.”

Educational Q&A

A teaching gains special authority when articulated clearly by a revered speaker; here, the Goddess’s exposition of strīdharma is affirmed as becoming virtuous and accepted as a normative standard (pramāṇa) in society.

Śiva addresses Devī, praising her specific and emphatic statement about women’s dharma, and declares that because it is spoken by her, it will be regarded in the world as an authoritative guide for conduct.
