लोकद्देष्यो5धम: पुंसां स्वयं कर्मफलै: कृत्तै: एष देवि मनुष्येषु बोद्धव्यो ज्ञातिबन्धुषु
Transliteration
lokad dveṣyo 'dhamaḥ puṁsāṁ svayaṁ karmaphalaiḥ kṛttaiḥ | eṣa devi manuṣyeṣu boddhavyo jñātibandhuṣu ||
Translation
Śrī Maheśvara said: “Among men, the lowest is one who becomes hated by society through the consequences of his own deeds. O Devī, in human life this is to be recognized especially in relation to one’s kinsmen and close friends: a person’s self-made actions can sever the very bonds that should protect and uphold him.”
