न चैकेन परिव्रज्यं न गन्तव्यं तथा निशि । अनागतायां संध्यायां पश्चिमायां गृहे वसेत्,अकेले परदेश जाना और रातमें यात्रा करना मना है। यदि किसी कामके लिये बाहर जाय तो संध्या होनेके पहले ही घर लौट आना चाहिये
na caikena parivrajyaṁ na gantavyaṁ tathā niśi | anāgatāyāṁ sandhyāyāṁ paścimāyāṁ gṛhe vaset ||
Bhishma said: One should not wander about alone, nor should one travel at night. Before the evening twilight arrives—especially as the western dusk approaches—one should remain at home.
