इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वमें छत्रदान और उपानहदानकी प्रशंसानामक छानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraḥ śrīmahābhārate anuśāsanaparvaṇi antargate dānadharmaparvaṇi chatradāna-upānahadāna-praśaṃsā-nāmakaḥ ṣaṇṇavati-tamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ
Thus ends the ninety-sixth chapter of the Anuśāsana Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the section on the dharma of giving (Dāna-dharma), titled “In Praise of the Gift of an Umbrella and the Gift of Footwear.” In ethical import, this closing colophon affirms that even simple, practical gifts—those that shelter and support others in daily life—are upheld as meritorious acts of dharma.
