किल्बिषी चापि मे वध्य: किल्बिषी चासि पन्नग । आत्मानं कारणं द्वात्र त्वमाख्यासि भुजड्रम,भुजंगम! जो भी अपराधी हो, वह मेरे लिये वध्य है; पन्नग! तू भी अपराधी है ही; क्योंकि तू स्वयं अपने आपको इसके वधमें कारण बताता है

Transliteration

kilbiṣī cāpi me vadhyaḥ kilbiṣī cāsi pannaga | ātmānaṃ kāraṇaṃ dvātra tvam ākhyāsi bhujaṅgama ||

Translation

The hunter said: “Even a wrongdoer is to be slain by me; and you too are a wrongdoer, O serpent. For you yourself declare that you are the cause here—thus, O snake, you make yourself responsible for your own killing.”
