Kāśī princesses taken; encounter with Śālva; Ambā’s declaration
विदूरस्तु माधवीमुपयेमे सम्प्रियां नाम । तस्या-मस्य जज्ञे अनश्वा नाम,विदूरने मधुवंशकी कन्या सम्प्रियासे विवाह किया; जिसके गर्भसे अनश्वा नामक पुत्र प्राप्त हुआ
vidūras tu mādhavīm upayeme sampriyāṃ nāma | tasyām asya jajñe anaśvā nāma ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Vidūra married a beloved woman of the Mādhava lineage named Sampriyā. From her, a son was born to him, named Anaśvā.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores gṛhastha-dharma: marriage conducted within social and familial order, and the ethical continuity of lineage through legitimate progeny.
Vaiśampāyana reports a genealogical detail: Vidura marries Sampriyā of the Mādhava lineage, and they have a son named Anaśvā.
