देवयान्युवाच किमिदं वृजिनं सुभ्रु कृतं वै कामलुब्धया,देवयानीने कहा--सुन्दर भौंहोंवाली शर्मिष्ठे! तुमने कामलोलुप होकर यह कैसा पाप कर डाला?

Transliteration

devayāny uvāca kim idaṁ vṛjinaṁ subhru kṛtaṁ vai kāmalubdhayā

Translation

Devayānī said: “O fair-browed Śarmiṣṭhā, what is this wrongdoing you have done—indeed, driven by lustful desire? What a sinful act you have committed!”
