Yayāti–Devayānī Dialogue and Śukra’s Consent
इत्युक्तमात्रे मां हत्वा पेषीकृत्वा तु दानवा: | दत्त्वा शालावृकेभ्यस्तु सुखं जग्मु:ः स््वमालयम्,“मेरे इतना कहते ही दानवोंने मुझे मार डाला और मेरे शरीरको चूर्ण करके कुत्ते- सियारोंको बाँट दिया। फिर वे सुखपूर्वक अपने घर चले गये
ity uktamātre māṃ hatvā peṣīkṛtvā tu dānavāḥ | dattvā śālāvṛkebhyas tu sukhaṃ jagmuḥ svam ālayam ||
Śukra said: “No sooner had I spoken these words than the Dānavas killed me. They crushed my body into pulp and distributed it to dogs and jackals. Having done so, they went back to their own dwelling, content and at ease.”
