Śaunaka said: In heaven the gods rejoiced, and the hosts of beings in this world also became glad. And Agni, his defilement caused by the curse now removed, attained supreme delight.
शौनक उवाच
When impurity born of wrongdoing or a curse is removed, harmony is restored: joy spreads from the individual (Agni) to the gods and to beings in the world, reflecting the Mahābhārata’s vision of a morally structured cosmos.
Śaunaka reports a moment of universal rejoicing: the gods in heaven and beings on earth become pleased, and Agni experiences great happiness because the taint associated with a curse has been destroyed.
