Educational Q&A

When impurity born of wrongdoing or a curse is removed, harmony is restored: joy spreads from the individual (Agni) to the gods and to beings in the world, reflecting the Mahābhārata’s vision of a morally structured cosmos.

Śaunaka reports a moment of universal rejoicing: the gods in heaven and beings on earth become pleased, and Agni experiences great happiness because the taint associated with a curse has been destroyed.
