Cyavana’s Birth and Bhṛgu’s Curse upon Agni (च्यवनजन्म तथा अग्निशापः)
त॑ दृष्टवा मातुरुदराच्च्युतमादित्यवर्चसम् | तद् रक्षो भस्मसाद्धूतं पपात परिमुच्य ताम्,माताके उदरसे च्युत होकर गिरे हुए उस सूर्यके समान तेजस्वी गर्भको देखते ही वह राक्षस पुलोमाको छोड़कर गिर पड़ा और तत्काल जलकर भस्म हो गया
taṁ dṛṣṭvā mātur udarāc cyutam ādityavarcasaṁ | tad rakṣo bhasmasāddhūtaṁ papāta parimucya tām ||
Seeing that radiant embryo—fallen from its mother’s womb and blazing like the sun—the rākṣasa at once released her; scorched into ashes, it collapsed.
शौनक उवाच
Adharmic aggression against the vulnerable rebounds upon the aggressor; the innate, divinely sanctioned radiance of a righteous birth functions as protection, illustrating moral causality and cosmic safeguarding.
A rākṣasa who had seized Pulomā sees her sun-bright embryo fall from the womb; terrified and overwhelmed by that radiance, he releases her and is instantly burned to ashes, collapsing on the spot.
