इति निश्चित्य मनसा जरत्कारुर्भुजड़मा । तमृषिं दीप्ततपसं शयानमनलोपमम्‌,मन-ही-मन ऐसा निश्चय करके मीठे वचन बोलनेवाली नागकन्या जरत्कारुने वहाँ सोते हुए अग्निके समान तेजस्वी एवं तीव्र तपस्वी महर्षिसे मधुरवाणीमें यों कहा--“महाभाग! उठिये, सूर्यदेव अस्ताचलको जा रहे हैं

Having thus resolved in her mind, Jaratkāru, the Nāga maiden of sweet speech, addressed the sleeping sage Jaratkāru—radiant like fire and fierce in austerity—in gentle words: “O fortunate one, rise; the Sun-god is going down toward the western mountain.”
