आविष्ट: स हि कोपेन शशाप नृपतिं तदा । वार्युपस्पृश्य तेजस्वी क्रोधवेगबलात्कृत:,वह तेजस्वी बालक रोषके आवेशमें आकर प्रचण्ड क्रोधके वेगसे युक्त हो गया था। उसने जलसे आचमन करके हाथमें जल लेकर उस समय राजा परीक्षितको इस प्रकार शाप दिया

Transliteration

āviṣṭaḥ sa hi kopena śaśāpa nṛpatiṃ tadā | vāryupaspṛśya tejasvī krodhavegabalātkṛtaḥ ||

Translation

Overpowered by anger, the radiant boy then pronounced a curse upon the king. Having first ritually sipped water, he took water in his hand and—driven by the force and momentum of wrath—uttered the imprecation against King Parīkṣit.
