Raivataka-giri Mahotsava and the Counsel on Subhadrā’s Marriage

Nārada said: Having entrusted the protection of the three worlds to Indra, the Lord (Brahmā) departed for Brahmaloka. Eager to grant a boon, Brahmā spoke with gracious satisfaction: “O passionate one (Bhāminī)! Wherever the sun’s course extends, in all those worlds you shall roam at will. Such radiance will be in you that no one will be able to look steadily at you with full sight.” Thus the grandsire of all worlds, having bestowed this boon upon Tilottamā and having placed the burden of guarding the three worlds upon Indra, returned again to Brahmaloka.
