आर्यव्रतश्न॒ पाज्चाल्यो न स राजा धनप्रिय: । न संत्यक्ष्यति कौन्तेयान् राज्यदानैरपि ध्रुवम्,पांचालराज ट्रुपद श्रेष्ठ व्ररका पालन करनेवाले हैं। वे धनके लोभी नहीं हैं। अतः तुम अपना सारा राज्य दे दो, तो भी यह निश्चय है कि वे कुन्ती-पुत्रोंका परित्याग नहीं करेंगे
Translation
Karna said: “Drupada, the king of Pañcāla, upholds the noble vows of the Āryas and is not greedy for wealth. Therefore, even if you were to offer him the entire kingdom, he would certainly not abandon Kuntī’s sons, the Kaunteyas.”
