Saṃvaraṇa’s Petition and Tapatī’s Conditioned Consent (सम्वरण-तपती संवादः)

ततः कुन्ती च विप्रश्न सहितावनिलात्मजम्‌ | तमब्रूतां कुरुष्वेति स तथेत्यब्रवीच्च तौ,तदनन्तर कुन्ती और ब्राह्मणने मिलकर वायु-नन्दन भीमसेनसे कहा--“तुम यह काम कर दो।” भीमसेनने उन दोनोंसे “तथास्तु' कहा

tataḥ kuntī ca vipraś ca sahitāv anilātmajam | tam abrūtāṃ kuruṣveti sa tathety abravīc ca tau ||

Then Kuntī and the brāhmaṇa, acting together, addressed Bhīmasena, the son of Vāyu: “Do this task.” Bhīma assented to them both, replying, “So be it,” and accepted the duty set before him.
