कुन्ती-युधिष्ठिर-संवादः — Kuntī’s Counsel on Departing for Pāñcāla
स्नेहपूर्व चिकीर्षामि हित॑ वस्तन्निबोधत । इदं नगरमभ्याशे रमणीयं निरामयम् । वसतेह प्रतिच्छन्ना ममागमनकाड्क्षिण:,मैं स्नेहपूर्वक तुमलोगोंका हित करना चाहता हूँ। इसलिये मेरी बात सुनो। यहाँ पास ही जो यह रमणीय नगर है, इसमें रोग-व्याधिका भय नहीं है। अतः तुम सब लोग यहीं छिपकर रहो और मेरे पुनः आनेकी प्रतीक्षा करो
snehapūrvaṁ cikīrṣāmi hitaṁ vo ’tannibodhata | idaṁ nagaram abhyāśe ramaṇīyaṁ nirāmayam | vasateha praticchannā mama āgamanakāṅkṣiṇaḥ ||
Vyāsa said: “Out of affection I wish to do what is beneficial for you; therefore, understand my words. Nearby there is a delightful city, free from the fear of illness and affliction. Stay there in concealment, and wait, longing for my return.”
व्यास उवाच
Affectionate guidance should aim at others’ welfare (hita): Vyāsa urges prudent, nonviolent self-protection—seeking a safe place and maintaining secrecy—so that dharma can be preserved without needless risk.
Vyāsa addresses a group he is protecting and instructs them to stay hidden in a nearby pleasant, healthy city and to wait there until he returns, indicating a strategic pause and safeguarding of vulnerable persons.
