Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how intention (jighāṁsā—desire to kill) shapes the moral stakes of an encounter: kinship-based loyalty can be mobilized toward adharma, and the threatened party must respond with vigilance and discernment.

A speaker identifies herself as the sister of the Rākṣasa chief and reveals that her brother dispatched her with the purpose of killing the addressed noble woman along with her son(s), setting up the imminent danger in the Hidimba episode.
