Vaiśampāyana said: Seeing Hiḍimba slain, those mighty and swift heroes were filled with joy. They honored and praised Bhīmasena—the tiger among men, the subduer of foes—for his decisive protection of the group and the removal of a grave threat.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When a grave threat is removed through courageous action undertaken for the safety of others, it is dharmic to acknowledge and honor that protector. The verse highlights gratitude, recognition of merit, and the ethical value of safeguarding one’s community.
After Hiḍimba has been slain, the heroes (contextually the Pāṇḍavas and their companions) rejoice and offer praise and honor to Bhīma, celebrating him as a foremost man and a crusher of enemies for eliminating the danger.
