Kāṇika said: “A man who has no need does not approach one who is in need; and when a person’s aims are already fulfilled, there is no lasting association. Therefore, one should have all tasks carried out in such a way that something remains unfinished—so that others continue to have cause to come and go, and dependence and connection are maintained.”
