विश्रान्तेडथ गुरौ तस्मिन् पौत्रानादाय कौरवान् | शिष्यत्वेन ददौ भीष्मो वसूनि विविधानि च,गुरु द्रोणाचार्य जब विश्राम कर चुके, तब सामर्थ्यशाली भीष्मजीने अपने कुरुवंशी पौत्रोंकी लेकर उन्हें शिष्यरूपमें समर्पित किया। साथ ही अत्यन्त प्रसन्न होकर भरद्वाजनन्दन द्रोणको नाना प्रकारके धन-रत्न और सुन्दर सामग्रियोंसे सुसज्जित तथा धन- धान्यसे सम्पन्न भवन प्रदान किया
viśrānte 'tha gurau tasmin pautrān ādāya kauravān | śiṣyatvena dadau bhīṣmo vasūni vividhāni ca ||
Vaiśampāyana said: When that preceptor had taken rest, Bhīṣma, taking the Kuru grandsons with him, formally entrusted them to him as disciples; and he also presented various kinds of wealth.
