Āstravidyā-Pradarśana: The Kuru Princes’ Public Demonstration of Arms (आस्त्रविद्या-प्रदर्शनम्)
विवर्धमानास्ते तत्र पुण्ये हैमवते गिरौ । विस्मयं जनयामासुर्महर्षीणां समेयुषाम्,उनका अभिमान सिंहके समान था, वे बड़े-बड़े धनुष धारण करते थे। उनकी चाल- ढाल भी सिंहके ही समान थी। देवताओंके समान पराक्रमी तथा सिंहकी-सी गर्दनवाले वे नरश्रेष्ठ बढ़ने लगे। उस पुण्यमय हिमालयके शिखरपर पलते और पुष्ट होते हुए वे पाण्डुपुत्र वहाँ एकत्र होनेवाले महर्षियोंको आश्वर्यचकित कर देते थे

vivardhamānās te tatra puṇye haimavate girau |
vismayaṃ janayāmāsur maharṣīṇāṃ sameyuṣām ||
Vaiśampāyana said: There, on that holy Himalayan mountain, as they steadily grew and flourished, they became a cause of wonder to the great seers who had gathered. Nurtured on that sacred peak, the sons of Pāṇḍu—strengthening in body and spirit—astonished the assembled ṛṣis by the very radiance of their growth and the promise of their future prowess.
