Pāṇḍu’s Gifts, Forest Residence, and Vidura’s Marriage

ततः कुमारं सा देवी प्राप्तकालमजीजनत्‌ । पाण्डुं लक्षणसम्पन्नं दीप्यमानमिव श्रिया,तदनन्तर देवी अम्बालिकाने समय आनेपर एक पाण्डुवर्णके पुत्रको जन्म दिया। वह अपनी दिव्य कान्तिसे उद्धासित हो रहा था

Transliteration

tataḥ kumāraṃ sā devī prāptakālam ajījanat | pāṇḍuṃ lakṣaṇasampannaṃ dīpyamānam iva śriyā ||

Translation

Then that queen, when the proper time had come, gave birth to a son—Pāṇḍu, endowed with auspicious marks, radiant as though illuminated by Fortune herself.
