Pāṇḍu’s Gifts, Forest Residence, and Vidura’s Marriage

द्वितीयं कुरुवंशस्य राजानं दातुमहसि । “किंतु माताके दोषसे वह बालक अन्धा ही होगा।” व्यासजीकी यह बात सुनकर माताने कहा--“तपोधन! कुरुवंशका राजा अन्धा हो यह उचित नहीं है। अतः कुरुवंशके लिये दूसरा राजा दो, जो जातिभाइयों तथा समस्त कुलका संरक्षक और पिताका वंश बढ़ानेवाला हो” || १०-११ $ || स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय निश्चक्राम महायशा:,महायशस्वी व्यासजी “तथास्तु” कहकर वहाँसे निकल गये

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

sa tatheti pratijñāya niścakrāma mahāyaśāḥ |

Vaiśampāyana said: “Therefore, grant the Kuru line a second king.” The illustrious Vyāsa pledged, “So be it,” and departed from that place.
