vāsudeve bhagavati sarvātmani pare ’male ekāntitvaṁ gato bhaktyā sarva-bhūta-suhṛt samaḥ
Free from association and attachment, peaceful within, controlling his senses and owning nothing, he maintained himself with whatever came of its own accord by the Lord’s grace.
This verse says that exclusive devotion to Vāsudeva makes a person samaḥ—equipoised—and sarva-bhūta-suhṛt, a genuine well-wisher of all living beings.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is describing the devotional transformation of a saintly person, emphasizing single-minded surrender to Vāsudeva.
Cultivate ekāntī-bhakti—steady devotion to the Lord—so the heart becomes purified, reducing envy and bias and naturally expressing kindness to all.
