Hari’s Special Mercy, Śiva’s Quick Boons, and the Deliverance from Vṛkāsura
स यदा वितथोद्योगो निर्विण्ण: स्याद् धनेहया । मत्परै: कृतमैत्रस्य करिष्ये मदनुग्रहम् ॥ ९ ॥
sa yadā vitathodyogo nirviṇṇaḥ syād dhanehayā mat-paraiḥ kṛta-maitrasya kariṣye mad-anugraham
When his efforts to gain wealth prove futile and he becomes weary of greed, and when he befriends My devotees, then I bestow upon him My special mercy.
This verse says that when one becomes weary and disillusioned with the chase for wealth—after seeing its futility—Krishna’s mercy becomes accessible, especially when one associates with His devotees.
Because close association and friendship with devotees reshapes one’s desires and values; it becomes the doorway through which Krishna’s grace naturally manifests when material ambition loses its hold.
Reduce obsessive wealth-centered goals, cultivate regular association with sincere devotees (satsanga), and let that company guide your daily choices toward devotion—then spiritual clarity and Krishna’s help arise.
