The Prayers of the Personified Vedas (Śruti-stuti) and the Indescribable Absolute
इत्यशेषसमाम्नायपुराणोपनिषद्रस: । समुद्धृत: पूर्वजातैर्व्योमयानैर्महात्मभि: ॥ ४३ ॥
ity aśeṣa-samāmnāya- purāṇopaniṣad-rasaḥ samuddhṛtaḥ pūrva-jātair vyoma-yānair mahātmabhiḥ
Thus the ancient great sages who journey through the higher heavens distilled the nectarean, confidential essence of all the Vedas, Purāṇas, and Upaniṣads.
This verse says that the concentrated nectar (rasa) of the entire Vedic revelation—along with Purāṇas and Upaniṣads—has been extracted and presented by great realized souls.
The speakers are the personified Vedas (Śrutis), who glorify the Supreme Lord through philosophical yet devotional prayers (Śruti-stuti).
Approach śāstra by seeking its “essence”—devotional realization of the Supreme—through guidance of saintly teachers, rather than getting lost only in complexity or debate.
