The Freed Kings Glorify Kṛṣṇa; Instruction on Kingship, Detachment, and Remembrance
सन्तन्वन्त: प्रजातन्तून् सुखं दु:खं भवाभवौ । प्राप्तं प्राप्तं च सेवन्तो मच्चित्ता विचरिष्यथ ॥ २२ ॥
santanvantaḥ prajā-tantūn sukhaṁ duḥkhaṁ bhavābhavau prāptaṁ prāptaṁ ca sevanto mac-cittā vicariṣyatha
As you live, begetting generations and meeting happiness and distress, birth and death, accept whatever comes and move through life with your mind always fixed on Me.
This verse teaches equanimity—accepting sukha and duḥkha, rise and decline, as they naturally come, while keeping the mind absorbed in Kṛṣṇa.
In the aftermath of major royal events and conflicts, Kṛṣṇa instructs worldly people to continue their responsibilities—family and social life—without attachment, by centering consciousness on Him.
Do your duty, avoid obsessive control over outcomes, accept what comes honestly, and keep daily remembrance of Kṛṣṇa (japa, prayer, kīrtana) as the inner anchor.
