The Slaying of Narakāsura (Bhaumāsura), Rescue of the Princesses, and the Pārijāta Episode Begins
श्रीशुक उवाच इति भूम्यर्थितो वाग्भिर्भगवान् भक्तिनम्रया । दत्त्वाभयं भौमगृहं प्राविशत् सकलर्द्धिमत् ॥ ३२ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca iti bhūmy-arthito vāgbhir bhagavān bhakti-namrayā dattvābhayaṁ bhauma-gṛham prāviśat sakalarddhimat
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Thus entreated by Goddess Bhūmi with humble words of devotion, the Supreme Lord granted fearlessness to her grandson and then entered Bhaumāsura’s palace, filled with every kind of wealth.
In this verse, Bhūmi-devī approaches with devotionally humble words, and Bhagavān grants her abhaya—showing that sincere bhakti draws the Lord’s protection and freedom from fear.
After the events involving Bhauma (Narakāsura), Bhūmi-devī petitions the Lord; Śukadeva describes that Kṛṣṇa responds by reassuring her and then entering Bhauma’s opulent palace.
Approach God with humility and devotion rather than anxiety; the Bhagavatam’s mood here is that bhakti brings inner fearlessness and clarity to face challenges.
